Laser Hair Removal targets the hair follicles, heating the root with heat generated by a laser. The heat then kills the hair at the root, inhibiting or slowing future growth. Some redness and slight swelling may occur in the area treated afterwards.

Hair growth goes through three stages:
1. Anagen (growth stage). The darkest and thickest stage of hair growth and most effective for laser treatment.
2. Catagen (transitional stage). Hair loosens from its follicle.
3. Telogen (shedding stage). The hair falls out to make room for new growth.
To be able to target most of your body and facial hair in the growth stage you would need approximately 6-8 treatments, which are six weeks apart.

Most patients do not feel any discomfort throughout the treatment; however, some do feel a slight discomfort, which is compared to a warm pinprick. The use of Dynamic Cooling System throughout the treatment minimizes  this discomfort.

Avoid plucking, electrolysis or waxing for at least 6 weeks prior to your first treatment. On treatment day, the treatment area should be cleanly shaved and cleansed of any makeup, creams, and oils. It is recommended to apply sunblock with an SPF 30 or above before treatment. Avoid Sun exposure and tanning  before and after the treatment.

Both the laser technician and the patient will have their eyes protected with special goggles. The laser technician uses a small handpiece on the treatment area to deliver the laser beam to the hair follicles. The intense heat from the burst of the energy will damage the hair follicles, which inhibits hair growth. Throughout the treatment, a special cooling device is used to reduce discomfort, which eliminates the need for applying gels.
